It is not permissible to cease teaching the Qur'an out of fear of praise or commendation

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: A question from an Egyptian working in the Eastern Region. He says in his message: I teach the recitation of the Noble Qur'an for the sake of Allah the Exalted after the 'Isha' prayer every day. This is for non-Arab Muslim nationalities, including Pakistanis, Indians, Somalis, and others, at the residential site. We live in a residential complex that has a mosque established by people of good, may Allah reward them. Since my arrival, I have been teaching the Qur'an to these people, and they started well with me. Now they are reading, and many of them no longer need me, but I continue with them. However, the problem is that they thank me and exaggerate in praising me and eulogizing me. I am afraid of the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) about the three who will enter the Fire, one of whom is the reciter of the Qur'an, where Allah says to him:
You recited so that it would be said of you, "You are a reciter," and it was saidقرأت ليقال عنك قارئ وقد قيل
In reality, I disapprove of their action and turn them away from it, but what is my sin in them saying it? Is it a sin for me to stop the recitation? Or what should I do?

A: In any case, you are to be thanked for this good work. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur'an.خيركم من تعلم القرآن وعلمه
Sunan Abi Dawud 1452Sahih (Al-Albani)
So you are to be thanked for your work, and you are on a great reward. There is no blame on you as long as you are sincere to Allah in this work of yours, and their praise of you does not harm you. You should advise them and urge them not to exaggerate in praise, or it is sufficient for them to make du'a' for you instead of praise. May Allah increase you in activity and success.
As for the warning mentioned in the hadith, it is for the one who recites so that it is said, "He is a reciter," and learns so that it is said, "He is a scholar." As for the one who teaches people seeking the reward of Allah and asking for the reward from Him, Blessed and Exalted is He, the praise of people does not harm him as long as he is sincere to Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, in his work. And Allah grants success.
