Question: Is it permissible to wear a gold watch or a yellow watch with a color that looks like the color of gold?
Answer: That is permissible for women, but it is not permissible for a man if the watch is made of gold or plated with gold; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan an-Nasa'i 5148Sahih (Darussalam).
As for if it resembles gold but is not gold, the better course for a man is to leave it off, to protect his reputation from the accusation of violating the pure Shari'ah.
