Ruling on a man wearing a watch or ring plated with gold

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
After this, a message was sent by a listener, (R. A. H.) from Bahrain, asking and saying: "The gold water used to dye some clothing, such as men's watches, is it permissible or not? May Allah reward you with good."

Answer:
A man is prohibited from gold and silk, so he is not allowed to wear silk or gold. If the watch is gilded with gold or the ring is gilded with gold, it is not permissible for him to wear it. This is for women. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding gold and silk:
They are lawful for the females of my Ummah, and forbidden for the males.إنهما حل لإناث أمتي، حرام على ذكورهم
And when he saw a gold ring on a man's hand, he threw it away and said:
One of you is wishing live coal from Hell. and putting it on his hand.يعمد أحدكم إلى جمرة من نار فيضعها في يده
Sahih Muslim 2090
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Gold and silk are lawful for the females among my followers, but prohibited to the malesأحل الذهب والحرير لإناث أمتي، وحرم على ذكورهم
Bulugh al-Maram 2:460
So gilding a ring, or gilding a watch with gold, is considered a gold watch, a gold ring; because the consideration is for the appearance. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
