The ruling on one who leaves Hajj while being able to perform it, and the woman who does not find a mahram

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a female questioner, Your Eminence the Shaykh, who has indicated her name with (N. S) from Riyadh. She says: Is it true that one who dies without having performed Hajj while being able to do so becomes a Christian or a Jew? And if that is the case, she says: I am a young woman who wishes to perform the obligatory Hajj, but all the members of my family have already performed this obligation when I was young. So what should I do? She says: And I do not find anyone to take me for Hajj. Is there a sin on me? And is there a sin on my family in that? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send blessings and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: Hajj is an obligatory duty (fard) on every Muslim who is of age and capable, from both men and women, once in a lifetime; due to the saying of Allah, Mighty and Majestic:
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a wayوَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلًا
[Al-Imran: 97]. And whoever leaves it while being able to perform it is in danger. It has been narrated from 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said regarding one who leaves it while being able to perform it:
it does not matter if he dies as a Jew or a Christianلا عليه أن يموت يهوديًا أو نصرانيًا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 812Da'if (Darussalam)
This is from the category of warning. This is from the category of caution and warning, and otherwise, he is not a disbeliever. One who leaves it is not a disbeliever, but he is a sinner if he leaves Hajj while he is able. If he leaves it out of negligence, he is a sinner. It is narrated from 'Umar that he said:
They are not Muslims, they are not Muslimsما هم بمسلمين، ما هم بمسلمين
The intent of all of this is caution and intimidation against negligence. Otherwise, the one who leaves Hajj while being able has committed a sin, but he is not a disbeliever. Rather, he is a Muslim who is prayed over and buried in the graves of Muslims. And if you do not have a mahram, then Hajj is not obligatory on you until a mahram becomes available, such as a brother, father, uncle, or maternal uncle. And if the woman does not find a mahram, then there is nothing on her, and praise be to Allah.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
