The ruling on one who does not find a mahram for Hajj
In distant lands, a mahram is not available for the woman, but a safe traveling companion is available. It is difficult to find a mahram with whom to enter the state of ihram, but she finds her cousin, who is of advanced age, and she is also of advanced age. In this case, is Hajj obligatory upon her if she has the means of financial support?
If the woman is able to perform Hajj with her own money and has a great deal of wealth, but she does not find a mahram, then Hajj is dropped from her, and she is not sinful for leaving it;Because Allah the Exalted says:
And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House - for whoever is able to find thereto a wayوَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ الْبَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاً
[Al-Imran: 97] and this woman is unable to find a way to it by the ruling of the Shari'ah, for a woman does not travel except with a mahram,And it is said to her: Be assured that there is nothing upon you, even if you find a traveling companion and they are trustworthy.
