The Best Time for the 'Isha' Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A message was sent by one of the female listeners, stating: Some people say that delaying the 'Isha' prayer is better. Is this statement correct? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: Yes, delaying the 'Isha' prayer is better until one-third of the night, if that is feasible. If it is not feasible due to fear of falling asleep, or because of other engagements that arise, then it should not be delayed; rather, it should be prayed at the beginning of its time. This applies to men as well. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If he saw that they had gathered for 'Isha', he would hasten it, and if he saw that they were delayed, he would delay it (peace and blessings be upon him)إذا رآهم اجتمعوا في العشاء عجلها، وإذا رآهم تأخروا أخرها عليه الصلاة والسلام
, and he prayed it one day after one-third of the night had passed, and he said:
This is the proper time for it; were it not that I would impose a burden on my peopleإنه لوقتها لولا أن أشق على أمتي
Sahih Muslim 638c
(peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, the best course is to consider the condition of the followers in the case of men. If they gather, he prays with them, even if it is at the beginning of the time. If they are delayed, he delays it.
As for the woman and the sick person who is at home, the best for them is to delay it. The best is to delay the 'Isha' prayer, unless one fears falling asleep or fears other engagements, in which case one should bring it forward. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good and do you good.
