Machine translationRead the Arabic original
We hope you will explain this saying: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2304Sahih (Darussalam)? And you say: I believe this is a hadith.
Answer: Yes, this is a valid hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2304Sahih (Darussalam) They are physically sound and healthy in their bodies, and they have free time, but they do not use it for what benefits them, for what brings them closer to Allah, or for what benefits them in this world. Such a person is at a loss regarding these two blessings. It is obligatory for the believer to utilize this blessing in what pleases Allah and what benefits him, such as in trade and types of lawful earnings, and in increasing fasting, prayer, remembrance of Allah, and acts of obedience, visiting the sick, enjoining good and forbidding evil, calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and other forms of goodness. The believer occupies himself with what pleases Allah and what benefits him in his worldly life through lawful means. If he leaves these two blessings and does not use them for what benefits him, he is at a loss. This loss may be forbidden, or it may be something that does not harm him. If he does not use them in disobedience to Allah and he fulfills the obligatory duties, this loss does not harm him. However, if his health is used in disobedience to Allah, that harms him, or if his free time is used in disobedience to Allah, that harms him. But if he does not use it in disobedience to Allah, yet he does not increase in the recommended good deeds, and does not use this free time and health for what benefits him in this world, but he has what suffices for his state and the state of his family, and he is not compelled to seek earnings or the like, then this does not harm him, but it is a type of loss. If he had used his health for what benefits him, such as remembrance of Allah and types of prescribed acts of obedience, and in good lawful earnings from which he gives charity and does good, it would have been better for him. Yes.
