How to be dutiful to one’s parents during their lifetime and after their death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
One of the female listeners sent a message that ended by saying: A resident of Saudi Arabia (N. A. D.). Our sister has a collection of questions, one of which is: How do I treat my parents well so that I enter Paradise because of them?
Answer: You treat them well by being kind to them during their lifetime, by obeying them in what is good, by being kind to them through financial support, kind words, and listening and obeying them in what is good. After their death, you do so by giving charity on their behalf and making du'a' for them, if they were Muslims. This is the kind of dutifulness that leads to entering Paradise. During their lifetime, it involves being kind to them, being gentle with them, speaking kindly to them, helping them in their needs, and spending on them if they are in need, along with other forms of good until they are pleased with their child. It also involves listening and obeying them in what is good, not in disobedience to Allah. After their death, it involves making du'a' for them, sending blessings upon them, seeking forgiveness for them, praying the funeral prayer for them, honoring their friends, and maintaining ties with their relatives. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked, and a man said to him:
O Messenger of Allah! Is there any dutifulness to my parents remaining that I can do for them after their death? He said: Yes, praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their commitments after their death—meaning: their bequest, the lawful bequest—and honoring their friends and maintaining ties with the relatives who can only be reached through them.
All of this is part of being dutiful to them after their death. If the child does this after their death and does good deeds with them during their lifetime, he is in a state of great good. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
