How to be dutiful to one's parents after their death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q: How do I show dutifulness to my mother after her death?
From S. M. Najran - Saudi Arabia

A: It is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that a man asked him, saying: "O Messenger of Allah, is there any dutifulness to my parents remaining that I can show them after their death?" He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
you can invoke blessings on them, forgiveness for them, carry out their final instructions after their death, join ties of relationship which are dependent on them, and honour their friendsالصلاة عليهما، والاستغفار لهما، وإنفاذ عهدهما من بعدهما، وإكرام صديقهما، وصلة الرحم التي لا توصل إلا بهما
Sunan Abi Dawud 5142Da'if (Al-Albani)
All of this is part of being dutiful to one's parents after their passing.
So I advise you to make du'a' for your mother and seek forgiveness for her, to carry out her lawful bequest, to honor her friends, and to maintain ties with your maternal uncles, maternal aunts, and all your relatives on your mother's side. May Allah guide you and make your affairs easy. May Allah accept from us and from you and from every Muslim. And Allah is the One who grants success.
