Question:
The following message: A message reached the program from one of the brother listeners, saying: Your brother in Islam from Iraq, Salah Muhammad Shu'ban. My question: I ask that you please explain the noble verse, which is the saying of Allah the Exalted: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan:
Have you not considered those who left their homes in many thousands, fearing death?
[al-Baqarah:243] the verse?

Answer:
On its apparent meaning, on its apparent meaning, that He (peace and blessings be upon him) makes clear that fleeing from death does not prevent death, and nothing prevents the divine decree of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So it is obligatory for the believer to prepare for meeting Allah, to do good deeds, and to repent from evil deeds, so that when his term comes upon him, he has prepared for meeting his Lord through obedience to Him and repentance to Him.
As for fleeing from one country to another, or from one hospital to another, to escape death, this will not save him from the punishment of Allah, nor will it prevent death from coming to him. When a person's appointed time arrives, nothing can prevent it, as He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: :
But never will Allah delay a soul when its time has comeوَلَنْ يُؤَخِّرَ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهَا
[Al-Munafiqun:11]. He the Exalted said:
When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]."إِذَا جَاءَ أَجَلُهُمْ فَلا يَسْتَأْخِرُونَ سَاعَةً وَلا يَسْتَقْدِمُونَ
[Yunus:49]. For this reason, He said:
Allah said to them, "Die"; then He restored them to life.
[Al-Baqarah:243].
So the intended meaning is: that leaving the countries, or from one tribe to another, or from one region to another, or from one neighborhood to another, out of fear of death, does not prevent death, as Allah the Exalted said:
Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction
[al-Nisa:78]. So death is inevitable, as He the Exalted said:
Every soul will taste death, and you will only be given your [full] compensation on the Day of Resurrection
[Ali 'Imran:185].
So it is obligatory to prepare for death, and to be ready with good deeds, by performing the obligations of Allah, by leaving the prohibitions of Allah, by standing by the limits of Allah, by repenting to Him from all sins, by cooperating on good, by advising one another to truth, and by being patient upon it. This is what is obligatory upon the people of Islam. And it is not befitting that Shaytan delude them that their health, or their fleeing to advanced hospitals, or to healthy countries, or to other than this of the causes of life, or of the causes of comfort, or of the causes of health, is not befitting that this deludes them, for death is not prevented by any preventer, even if one is in the healthiest of countries, or in the most advanced of hospitals. When the term comes, no preventer can stop it, as you heard from the noble verses. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
