The ruling on abbreviating the writing of ﷺ as (Sallam) or (S)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Sister Noura Abdulaziz Al-Obaid from Qassim, from Unaizah, sends this message, with thanks and a request for a long life of good deeds, and says: What is the ruling on abbreviating the name of the Messenger ﷺ, such as (Sallam)?

Answer:
This is not what should be done. It is obligatory for whoever writes the name of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), or pronounces it, to perform a complete prayer, saying: (peace and blessings be upon him), and not to say: (صلعم) or just (ص). Laziness is not permissible. Rather, the sunnah and what is prescribed is to write the prayer explicitly, saying: (peace and blessings be upon him), or "upon him peace and blessings"; because Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) said:
Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.
[Al-Ahzab: 56]. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who blesses me once, Allah would bless him ten times.من صلى علي واحدة صلى الله عليه بها عشرًا
Sahih Muslim 408
And it was reported from him: :
That Jibril informed him: that whoever prays upon him once, Allah will pray upon him ten times, and whoever sends peace upon him once, Allah will send peace upon him ten timesأن جبريل أخبره: أن من صلى عليه واحدة صلى الله عليه بها عشرًا، ومن سلم عليه واحدة، سلم الله عليه بها عشرًا
A good deed is rewarded with ten times its like. So it is not permissible for the believer to be lazy, nor for the believing woman to be lazy when writing, or when pronouncing his name (peace and blessings be upon him), regarding the prayer and blessings upon him in writing and speech. As for indicating it with the letter Sad or with (صلعم), this is not permissible. Yes.
