What is the ruling on writing the letter (ص) after the word "Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)" in a book?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What do you think of the letter Sad that is written in the book?

The Shaykh : Sad?

The questioner:...

The Shaykh : In my opinion, this is a type of abbreviation and condensation, so there is no harm in it. This is unlike what some people used to employ in the past, "Sallam 'alayhi wa sallam" (peace be upon him), which is a broader abbreviation with more letters than
S ص
. That is because it gives the impression that it is a word, so some of the common people and the ignorant read it. As for
Sص
, it has become a symbol for sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Therefore, I see no objection at all to using this term because it is not misunderstood. This is my opinion.
Al-Halabi : Our Shaykh, regarding the writing itself, the scholars said it is permissible if a person does not write it; it is sufficient to send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when writing.

The Shaykh : Yes, exactly.

The questioner : Many pilgrims descend from 'Arafah.

Another questioner : Before your question.
