Reconciling: {If you reveal what is in your hearts...} and “Indeed, Allah has pardoned the Ummah of Muhammad”

Question:
This is a letter sent at the beginning by the listener (H. M. S.) from Jeddah, containing three questions:
In his first question, he says: What is the meaning of the saying of Allah the Exalted: [al-Baqarah: 284]? And how do we reconcile its meaning with the noble hadith whose meaning is: ? Yes.
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and peace upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
This noble verse caused difficulty for many of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) when it was revealed. It is the saying of Allah the Exalted: [al-Baqarah: 284]. This matter was hard for them, so they came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned that this was something they could not bear. He said to them (peace and blessings be upon him): Sahih Muslim 125 They said: We hear and we obey. When they said it and their tongues became accustomed to it, Allah revealed after it His saying: [Al-Baqarah 2:285] “Allah does not charge a soul except [with] its capacity” [al-Baqarah: 286], the verse.
So Allah forgave them and pardoned (Mighty and Majestic) , and abrogated what the content of this verse indicated, namely that they are not held accountable except for what they did, and what they persisted in and stood firm upon. As for the fleeting thoughts that occur in souls and hearts, these are pardoned; for this reason, it is authentically reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:Bulugh al-Maram 8:133 So this matter was removed, praise be to Allah, and the believer became not held accountable except for what he did, or said, or persisted in with his heart as an action of the heart, such as persisting in what happens to him of arrogance and hypocrisy, and the like of that.
As for the passing thoughts that occur, and the doubts that occur and then disappear through faith and certainty, these do not harm; rather, they are an occurrence from Shaytan and do not harm. For this reason, when the Companions said: “O Messenger of Allah, one of us finds in his heart something that if it were to fall from the sky would be easier for him than to speak it – or as they said –” he said: And in another wording: So they are from Shaytan; when he sees from the believer sincerity and purity of intention, soundness of faith, and desire for what is with Allah, he whispers to him some things and casts evil thoughts into his heart. If he struggles against them and fights them with faith and seeking refuge in Allah from Shaytan, he is safe from their evil. For this reason, it came in another hadith where he said – (peace and blessings be upon him): Mishkat al-Masabih 66Muttafaqun 'alayh (Zubair `Aliza'i) And in another wording: .
This indicates to us that a person is exposed to Shaytan’s whispers. If evil whispers and reprehensible thoughts occur to him, let him stay away from them; and let him say: I believe in Allah and His messengers, I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan; and let him stop and not turn to them, for they are false and do not harm him, and they are among the thoughts that Allah has pardoned (Mighty and Majestic) . Yes.

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Whether you show what is within yourselves or conceal it, Allah will bring you to account for it. Then He will forgive whom He wills and punish whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.
Do you intend to say what the people of two books (Jews and Christians) said before you:" We hear and disobey"? You should rather say:" We hear and we obey
أتريدون أن تقولوا كما قال من قبلكم: سمعنا وعصينا؟ قولوا: سمعنا وأطعناThe Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], "We make no distinction between any of His messengers." And they say, "We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination."

تلك الوسوسةPeople will continue to ask one another questions till someone says this, ‘God created all things, but who created God?’ Whoever comes across anything of that nature should say, ‘I believe in God and in His messengers.’
