Guidance for one who has a neighbor who commits some sins

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From Buraydah in al-Qasim, this is a letter sent by one of the sisters from there. She says, your sister Umm Hibah 'Abd al-Hadi, our sister, we presented a question to her in previous episodes of this program, and in this episode she asks your Eminence, saying: I have a neighbor who mixes with men and does not wear the Shari'ah-prescribed hijab that Allah the Exalted has commanded. She is constantly backbiting about people. I have advised her and called her to the right path, but she has not responded to this day. What is required of me?
May Allah reward you with good. And should I cut off relations with her?

Answer:
You must advise her frequently and warn her of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); for her mixing with men in a way that incites fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) is not permissible, and likewise her not wearing the hijab. It is obligatory for her to be cautious of this matter; she must cover herself, wear the hijab, and stay away from harmful mixing. As for mixing that does not cause harm, such as selling in the market in the women's section, or buying her needs from the market, or selling something in the market while being modest, wearing the hijab, and covering herself, there is nothing wrong with that. She can buy her needs and sell something in the market. If there is a market specifically for women, she can sell and buy there, staying away from danger and mixing with men.
As for backbiting, its evil is great. Backbiting is a wrong and a crime, and it is among the major sins. It is obligatory to warn her of that and remind her of the saying of Allah, the Exalted:
or backbite each otherوَلا يَغْتَبْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا
[Surah al-Hujurat: 12]. It is reminding your brother of what he dislikes. Backbiting is mentioning a person, whether a man or a woman, with what he dislikes, such as saying he is stingy, that he has a foul tongue, that he eats what is forbidden, or mentioning something he dislikes. This is backbiting. So it is obligatory to advise her and to be frequent in advising her about it, and to warn her of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He); perhaps she will be guided, and you will have a reward like hers. If she persists, then it is prescribed (mashru') that you cut off relations with her and boycott her. If she persists and does not accept, then it is prescribed for you to boycott her and stay away from her; because she may drag you into her vile and bad deeds. Boycoting one who openly commits sin and does not accept advice is prescribed (mashru'). Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
