His father commits sins; what should he do with him?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 6286 )
Q 4: My father is constantly drinking intoxicants, such as hashish, opium, and kina. He believes that this kina is not khamr (intoxicants) because it is sold in pharmacies. He also insults the religion. What do you advise me to do regarding him, and what is obligatory for me to do?
A 4: Continue to advise your father with wisdom and good exhortation, and argue with him in the best manner regarding the ruling on these abominations, hoping that the advice will benefit him and Allah will accept his repentance. If he persists in the abominations, then cut off relations with him in that matter, and do not assist him in it, but treat him in this world with kindness; for Allah the Exalted said:
And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness
[Luqman 31:14]
up to His saying:
But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.
[Luqman 31:15]

And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
