The ruling on giving charity on behalf of an unknown deceased person

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
From the Eastern Region, one of the female listeners, who indicated her name with the letters (S. A), our sister asks several questions, among which is a question that says: I want to distribute dates to those we know and those we do not know, as charity on behalf of a deceased person, and this deceased person is not related to us by kinship, so is this permissible or not?

Answer:
The Muslim is the brother of the Muslim. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
He who is competent amongst you to benefit his brother should do so.من استطاع منكم أن ينفع أخاه فليفعل
Sahih Muslim 2199a
And the Muslim is the brother of the Muslim; he benefits him with charity and he benefits him with supplication. So if one gives charity on behalf of his brother in money, or food, or clothing, he has his reward with Allah, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
