The ruling on prioritizing this world over the Hereafter in supplication

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to supplicate for this world before the Hereafter?

Answer:
I am not aware of any harm in it, but the Sunnah is to begin with religion; because it is more important. You say: “O Allah, rectify for me the matter of my religion before my worldly life,” just as in the authentic hadith:
O Allah, set right for me my religion which is the safeguard of my affairs. And set right for me the affairs of my world wherein is my living. And set right for me my Hereafter on which depends my after-lifeاللهم أصلح لي أمر ديني الذي هو عصمة أمري، وأصلح لي دنياي التي فيها معاشي وأصلح لي آخرتي التي فيها معادي
Sahih Muslim 2720
So beginning with what is more important in your religion and your worldly life is preferable. And if he began with the worldly life, it would not harm him. If he said: “O Allah, make lawful sustenance easy for me,” or “O Allah, make a suitable and good job easy for me,” or “Forgive me and have mercy on me,” it would not harm him. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
