The ruling on using perfumes that contain a percentage of alcohol

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return in this episode to the letter of our sister Iman Sultan Saud from Dammam. In a previous episode, we presented three of her questions. In this episode, she asks and says: What is the ruling on using the perfumes sold in the markets, which, as is well known, contain a percentage of alcohol?

Answer:
This requires a detailed explanation: If it is known that this perfume contains something that intoxicates in large quantities, it is not permissible, provided that the buyer and the user know that this perfume contains something intoxicating that intoxicates in large quantities. As for the small amount that does not intoxicate in large quantities, it is excused, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whatever a lot of it intoxicates, a little of it is unlawful.ما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1865Hasan (Darussalam)
.
This indicates that what does not intoxicate in large quantities is not forbidden. However, what is known to be intoxicating, such as the well-known cologne used by some people, which contains alcohol that intoxicates, is known to be so. It is obligatory to leave it and not use it, unless one knows that what is in it is a small amount that does not intoxicate in large quantities; in that case, there is no harm. Or if one knows that it contains nothing, there is no blame.
As for what is currently known to be intoxicating, and is consumed by some foolish people who get drunk on this well-known substance, the cologne; it is not permissible to use it until they consult the people of insight and the people of expertise. If the people of expertise testify that it contains nothing, or that it contains something that does not intoxicate in large quantities, then there is no harm.
As for perfumes whose status is unknown, there is no harm in using them until it is known that they contain something that intoxicates in large quantities. Otherwise, the original ruling is permissibility.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
