The ruling on perfumes that contain a percentage of alcohol

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
You say: We hear that some perfumes contain some alcohol. How do you advise us?
Answer: We also hear this from some people. The rule is that perfumes and fragrances available to people are lawful, except for what is known to contain something that prevents its use, such as an intoxicant or impurity, or the like. Otherwise, the original ruling is that the perfumes available to people are lawful, such as agarwood oil, rose oil, ambergris, musk, and others. If a person knows that a perfume contains something that prevents its use, such as an intoxicant or impurity, he should leave it.
This includes cologne, for it has been established for us, by the testimony of doctors, that it does not lack an intoxicant; it contains a large amount of spirit, which is an intoxicant. It should be left, unless safe types are found, in which case there is no harm. What we know now, and the doctors have told us, is that the cologne available does not lack an intoxicant, and some of it contains eighty percent intoxicant. It should be left, one should be cautious of it, and not use it, neither after food nor otherwise. And in what Allah has provided of fragrances, there is sufficiency for it, and praise be to Allah.
And so, every perfume or drink that contains an intoxicant must be left. The rule is
Whatever a lot of it intoxicates, a little of it is unlawful.أن ما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1865Hasan (Darussalam)
as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whatever a lot of it intoxicates, a little of it is unlawful.ما أسكر كثيره فقليله حرام
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1865Hasan (Darussalam)
Yes.
