The Ruling on a Woman Going Out to Call People to Allah the Exalted

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to frequently leave her home to call people to Allah the Exalted?

Answer:
This is a righteous deed; a woman going out to call people to Allah is a righteous deed. As for His saying:
And abide in your housesوَقَرْنَ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ
[Al-Ahzab: 33], the command to stay in the homes applies when there is no need. However, if there is a need, such as going out to preach and remind among women, or going out to witness the prayer with men for a benefit she perceives, provided she observes hijab and covers herself, then it is permissible. The women in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)—the wives of the Companions—used to go out and pray with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in his mosque (peace and blessings be upon him), with hijab and covering.
Likewise, her going out to visit her parents or relatives, with hijab and covering, or to visit a sick person, or to console the bereaved, or to call people to Allah , or similar noble purposes, but while observing what Allah has commanded regarding hijab and covering, and avoiding tabarruj (display of adornment) and avoiding engaging in causes of fitnah (trial or discord).
Women are in need of da'wah (calling to Islam) just as men are in need of da'wah; everyone is in need of da'wah. If you also advise men and preach to men, there is no harm. It has been stated that her voice is not 'awrah (a part of the body that must be covered). Her voice in calling to Allah and directing to good and forbidding evil is not 'awrah. The 'awrah is ta'annuj (coquettishness) and khudu' (submissiveness in speech), as previously mentioned.
