The ruling on carrying the mushaf in prayer for the imam and the ma'mum

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on the ma'mum carrying the mushaf during prayer, especially what is observed in the tarawih prayer in the mosques?

Answer:
There is no harm in that if the need arises to read from the mushaf in the tarawih, or in the tahajjud, there is nothing wrong with that. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to have her slave lead her in prayer from the mushaf in Ramadan, and not everyone memorizes the Qur'an, so if he reads from the mushaf, there is no blame on him.
Q: Following the ma'mum?
The Shaykh: As for following, no, he should listen and not follow the mushaf, he should listen and focus his heart on hearing the Qur'an, and not be occupied with reviewing and flipping through the Qur'an while listening to the imam. What appears is that he should leave that; because it occupies him from being attentive and humble.
