Ruling on a father writing a portion of his estate to one of his sons

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible for a father to write a portion of his estate to one of his sons and not the others?

Answer:
Neither the father nor the mother may favor one of their children with something. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتَّقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
. Therefore, neither the father nor the mother may favor some of their children with something, whether in their lifetime or in a bequest. Rather, it is obligatory to be just:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتَّقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
.
