The ruling on performing wudu with warm water

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our brother is asking another question and says: Is it permissible to perform wudu with warm water, especially in days of severe cold?

Answer:
Yes, it is the best; the best is with warm water; because it is more effective in thoroughness, but if one needs cold water and endures it, he has a great virtue; for what came in the hadith from him (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Shall I direct you to what by which Allah raises degrees and erases sinsألا أدلكم على ما يرفع الله به الدرجات، ويمحو به الخطايا
? They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, he said:
well-performed ablution despite difficultiesإسباغ الوضوء على المكاره
Sunan Ibn Majah 428Hasan (Darussalam)
-and in a wording he said:
in the coldفي السبرات
meaning: in the cold-
taking a lot of steps to the Masjid, and waiting for one Salah after another. That is the Ribat for you, that is the Ribat for youوكثرة الخطى إلى المساجد، وانتظار الصلاة بعد الصلاة، فذلكم الرباط فذلكم الرباط
Sunan an-Nasa'i 143Sahih (Darussalam)
Muslim narrated it in his Sahih.
So thoroughness in wudu in difficult conditions in the state of severe cold when there is a need for it; this indicates the strength of faith, and the reward becomes greater, but if warm water is made easy for him, it is better; because this warm water is more helpful for him in thoroughness, and completing the wudu, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) prescribed, and it is also more effective in removing dirt and cleanliness, yes.

The presenter: This warm one?

The Shaykh: This warm one, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
