The ruling on speaking or reading while listening to the broadcast of the Noble Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Your Eminence, this questioner says, Ahmad Ali from Yemen: What is the ruling on speaking, studying, or reading while listening to the broadcast of the Noble Qur'an?

Answer:
As long as he is listening to the broadcast of the Qur'an, this requires a distinction: if he is hearing the Qur'an, it is obligatory to listen attentively and not to engage in conversation while he is hearing the Qur'an; for Allah the Exalted says:
So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attentionوَإِذَا قُرِئَ الْقُرْآنُ فَاسْتَمِعُوا لَهُ وَأَنصِتُوا
[Al-A'raf: 204].
However, if the broadcast is airing other news, there is nothing wrong with speaking about something else. But if the broadcast is airing the Qur'an, he must either listen attentively or turn it off and attend to his own business.

The presenter: May Allah reward you and bless you.
