If the Qur'an is on the radio and music from another station interferes with it, should the device be turned off?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : This person says: If the news broadcast includes music from another station, and likewise music interferes with listening to the Noble Qur'an, should the radio be turned off so that the Qur'an does not get mixed with the music?

The Shaykh : I doubt this statement. Does any radio station include music during the recitation? Yes, if they overlap, we say: turn off the radio, because warding off harm takes precedence over seeking benefit. Listening to the Qur'an undoubtedly brings good and reward, but listening to music also involves sin. So leave it to be safe; you will not get the reward, nor will you incur the burden of sin. Perhaps your intention is good, and Allah knows your intention that, were it not for this mixing, you would have listened. Perhaps you would be rewarded for that.
