Clarification of the Non-Prescription of a Prayer Specific to the Sick

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Following this, a message was received by the program from one of the listening brothers, asking that Your Eminence—may Allah reward you with good—direct them to the prescription of a specific prayer for the sick. Has anything been reported regarding this?

Answer:
I am not aware of anything specific to the sick person, but he should fear Allah as much as he is able, and Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) records the reward for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith:
If a servant falls ill or travels, Allah writes for him what he used to do while he was healthy and resident.إذا مرض العبد أو سافر؛ كتب الله له ما كان يعمل وهو صحيح مقيم
And praise be to Allah, meaning: the deeds he performs in good health are recorded for him: from the Dhuha prayer, from fasting, and from other things. If illness prevents him, their rewards are recorded for him; because a valid legal excuse detained him.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said when he was in the expedition of Tabuk:
There are some people in Medina who were with you all the time, you did not travel any portion of the journey nor crossed any valley, but they were with youإن في المدينة أقوامًا ما سرتم مسيرًا، ولا قطعتم واديًا، إلا وهم معكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 4423
And in the other wording:
they shared with you in the rewardإلا شركوكم في الأجر
Sunan Ibn Majah 2765Sahih (Darussalam)
They said: O Messenger of Allah, are they in Madinah? He said:
And they are in Madinah, an excuse prevented them.وهم في المدينة، منعهم العذر
(Illness detained them). So the sick person has the rewards of the deeds he used to perform in a state of health, and he must pray the obligatory prayer according to his capacity, and if he prays the voluntary prayer according to his capacity, that is better and more excellent, yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good, and may He do you good.
