The ruling on a woman covering herself from her brother’s stepson

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A letter from a group of sister listeners asking, saying: Your sisters in Islam (G. S. J) are asking a collection of questions, one of which is: My brother married a woman who had previously given birth to a son from another man. This son was raised in my brother’s care and was two years old at the time. He is now twenty-five years old. May I cover myself from him, knowing that my brother raised him and spent on him while he was an orphan?

Answer:
It is not required, he is not your brother’s son unless your brother’s wife breastfed him from your brother’s milk. If this son suckled from your brother’s wife or your father’s wife until he became your brother, that is different. However, if there is no breastfeeding, merely being the son of your brother’s wife does not make him a mahram to you, unless there is breastfeeding that makes him a mahram, such as if your sister, your father’s wife, or your mother breastfed him. Otherwise, the fact that your brother raised him does not make him a mahram to you, and the fact that he is the son of your brother’s wife does not make him a mahram to you. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
