The Ruling on Prostration of Recitation and the Supplications Made in It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The listener Ahmad Ibrahim al-Khalidi from Shuqra sent a message saying: We see many young people who have studied and succeeded; when they read the Noble Qur'an and come upon verses containing a prostration, they pass by the prostration without prostrating. When you ask them about it, they say: We did not study the supplication for prostration during our studies, and we do not know it. We ask you, O Shaykh, to please guide the people regarding the supplication that is said in the prostration of recitation? May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
The prostration of recitation is like the prostration in prayer; what is said in the prostration of prayer is said in it. The Sunnah is that when the reciter comes upon a verse of prostration, he should prostrate and say:
Subhan Rabbial-A'la, Subhan Rabbial-A'laسبحان ربي الأعلى، سبحان ربي الأعلى
Sunan an-Nasa'i 1133Sahih (Darussalam)
and that is sufficient, just like the prostration in prayer. If he adds:
O Allah, it is to Thee that I prostrate myself and it is in Thee that I affirm my faith, and I submit to Thee. My face is submitted before One Who created it, and shaped it, and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing.
Sahih Muslim 771a
then that is better, and this is also said in the prostration of prayer. This is also said in the prostration of prayer, just like the prostration of recitation, exactly the same.
The point is: that it is not an excuse, but the prostration is not obligatory; it is a Sunnah. The prostration of recitation is a Sunnah and a voluntary act. However, what is prescribed for the believer when he comes upon a verse of prostration is to prostrate, even if he is not in a state of ritual purity. It is permissible to prostrate without ritual purity, according to the correct opinion. And he says in his prostration what he says in the prostration of prayer: Glory be to my Lord, the Most High; Glory be to my Lord, the Most High; O Allah, forgive me; O Allah, save me from the Fire, exactly as he says in the prostration of prayer. And it is said in the prostration of prayer and in the prostration of recitation:
O Allah, it is to Thee that I prostrate myself and it is in Thee that I affirm my faith, and I submit to Thee. My face is submitted before One Who created it, and shaped it, and opened his faculties of hearing and seeing.
Sahih Muslim 771a
It is said in both. Yes.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
