Question:
We move on to another message that reached the program from Qatar, the Dukhan district, sent by a brother of ours from there. He says: Abdullah Muhammad al-Mahi—apparently—our brother is asking and saying: Are there books that speak about the angels? I ask you to inform me of the easiest to obtain and understand? May Allah reward you with good.
Answer:
The greatest, best, and most truthful of them is the Book of Allah, for it contains much explanation about the angels and their deeds, peace and blessings be upon them. Then the hadiths from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Al-Bukhari dedicated a separate chapter to the angels in his Sahih, and so did Muslim, and so did all the Sunan, which contain a collection of hadiths about the angels and news of the angels, peace and blessings be upon them.
Then the books written by the scholars regarding the angels and the biography of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Among the best of these are Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, then the four Sunan regarding the angels, then what the scholars have written. Among the best of that is Zad al-Ma'ad fi Hady Khayr al-'Ibad by Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him), for he mentioned regarding the angels what is sufficient and enough, may Allah have mercy on him.
The presenter: May Allah reward you, and may Allah reward you with good.
