A man died on the same night his wife gave birth to a daughter; does she have to observe the waiting period, knowing that the delivery took place before his death?

The questioner: Shaykh Abdullah al-Abaylan asked you about this.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: That is, when my brother passed away a few months ago, he left his wife who gave birth to a daughter in the hospital on Thursday, and he died on that same night.

The Shaykh: Did the delivery take place before or after?

The questioner: The delivery took place before the delivery.

The Shaykh: Before his death.

The questioner: Yes, by one day.

The Shaykh: All right.

The questioner : Praise be to Allah.

The Shaykh : May Allah have mercy on you.

The questioner: So does she have to observe the waiting period?

The Shaykh: Yes, if the delivery took place before, naturally she has to observe the waiting period. But if it was after, she does not have to observe the waiting period. What was the previous answer?

The questioner: I understood it incorrectly.

The Shaykh: May Allah reward you, if Allah wills!
