The ruling on thoughts and intrusive ideas during prayer and the remedy for them

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We return at the beginning of this episode to the letter from our sister: Mish'al al-Ghamidi from al-Bahah. We presented part of her questions in a previous episode, and in this episode she asks and says: I am, praise be to Allah, diligent in maintaining the prayer, and I do not praise myself for it, but I am sometimes overcome by some intrusive thoughts and thinking during the prayer. Does this invalidate the prayer? And what is the correct way to get rid of thinking during the prayer?

Answer:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance. As for what follows:
Maintaining the prayer is one of the great blessings of Allah, and one of the most important obligations and greatest duties for all men and women; because the prayer is the pillar of Islam and its greatest pillar after the two testimonies. Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, says regarding it:
Maintain with care the [obligatory] prayers and [in particular] the middle prayerحَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى
[al-Baqarah:238], and He says regarding it, Glorified and Exalted is He:
And establish prayer and give zakah and bow with those who bow [in worship and obedience].وَأَقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَارْكَعُوا مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ
[al-Baqarah:43], and He says, (peace and blessings be upon him):
and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoingوَأَقِمِ الصَّلاةَ إِنَّ الصَّلاةَ تَنْهَى عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنْكَرِ
[al-'Ankabut:45], and He says, (peace and blessings be upon him):
(1) Certainly will the believers have succeeded: (2) They who are during their prayer humbly submissiveقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝ الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي صَلاتِهِمْ خَاشِعُونَ
[al-Mu'minun:1-2].
So I advise you, O sister in Allah, to take care of focusing on it, being humble in it, and bringing your heart before Allah when you enter the prayer, until the whispers and thoughts that occur to you disappear. When the heart is present before Allah, and you feel that you are before Allah, and that you are conversing with your Lord, Glorified and Exalted is He, ... that the prayer is the pillar of Islam, and that humility in it is among the most important matters, and this will help you ... Allah with that against those whispers until they disappear, and until those thoughts go away. And be glad of good. And if something of that overcomes you, say: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan, even in the prayer. Say it and spit to your left three times. Say: I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan three times, and spit to your left, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered some of his Companions to do when they complained to him that whispers overcame them in the prayer; he ordered them to seek refuge in Allah from the Shaytan three times, and to spit to their left three times. I ask Allah for you success and guidance. Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
