What is the ruling on plucking the eyebrows and the area between them for a woman?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on plucking the eyebrows and the area between them for a woman?

Answer:
Plucking the eyebrows is not permissible; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed the one who plucks her eyebrows and the one who has them plucked. Plucking refers to removing the hair of the eyebrows and the face. As for the area between them—the space between the eyebrows—some scholars have permitted it; because it is not part of the eyebrows, and because leaving it leads to a disliked and ugly appearance. So, the area near the nose and the barrier between them is a matter of leniency, but nothing should be taken from the eyebrows themselves.
Likewise, the hair on the face should not be plucked or touched, except if there is a deformity in it—such as hair on the mustache or beard. If a woman grows a beard or a mustache, there is no harm in removing it; because it distorts her natural form and harms her.
As for the man, he is not allowed to take from his beard; rather, it is obligatory for him to honor the beard, let it grow, and let it hang down. It is not permissible for him to cut it or shave it. As for the mustache, the recommended practice (sunnah) for the man is to trim it and keep it in order. As for the woman, there is no objection to removing the mustache. If a mustache or beard appears on her, she should remove it; because it harms her and causes a bad appearance, and in her case, it is like a deformity or disfigurement.
