What is the correct method of tayammum?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
This questioner says: I hope you will clarify for us the correct method of tayammum?

Answer:
Tayammum is performed with clean earth, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: :
then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and your hands [with it]فَتَيَمَّمُوا صَعِيدًا طَيِّبًا فَامْسَحُوا بِوُجُوهِكُمْ وَأَيْدِيكُمْ
[Al-Nisa: 43]. It is a single wipe for the face and the hands. One strikes the earth, meaning: he places his hands in the earth with a strike, using the pure, clean earth on the ground, or in the vessel containing the earth, or on the cloth containing the earth, or on the bedding containing the earth. Then he wipes his face and his palms. He wipes his face like this, and his palms like this... then his palms... He wipes his face with the earth, then he wipes his palms with the remainder, both the outer and inner sides. This is tayammum. There is no need to wipe the arms or the head. No, by the grace of Allah and His facilitation, He (Glorified and Exalted is He) made the face and the hands sufficient. In wudu, one washes his face and hands, wipes his head and ears, and washes his feet. But in tayammum, our Lord (Exalted and Majestic is He) made it easy and facilitated it, making the face and the palms sufficient. The sick person wipes his face and his palms, and that is sufficient, and praise be to Allah.
Tayammum takes the place of water, according to the correct view. If one performs tayammum, he prays with it, whether it is a voluntary prayer or an obligatory one, whether it is the current prayer or a later one, as long as he remains in a state of purity, until he breaks his purity or finds water if he was lacking it, or until he is able to use it if he was unable to use it; because tayammum is a means of purification that takes the place of water, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) named it: a means of purification.
