It is obligatory for the believer, when he hears the mu'adhdhin, to hasten to proceed to the mosque to hear the khutbah and pray; because the purpose of the khutbah is to admonish the congregation, to admonish the Muslims and remind them and teach them. So it is obligatory for them to hasten to attend it so that they benefit from the imam's guidance and reminders, and so that he is able to perform the prayer from its beginning and nothing is missed by him. For this reason, He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: [Al-Jumu'ah: 9]. So it is obligatory to hasten from the time of the call, and if one goes early before that, it is better. As in the authentic hadith, he (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the one who goes early to Friday prayer, he is like one who offers a camel in sacrifice, and the one after him is like one who offers a cow, and the one after him is like one who offers a horned ram, and the one after him is like one who offers a hen, and in the fifth hour, he is like one who offers an egg.
