The obligation of the Muslim toward corruption

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We hear these valuable lectures, but we have neither the power nor the means to do anything. But what about the clubs, series, and videos, and what is added to them, which have corrupted both the world and religion?

Answer:
The student of knowledge must exert his utmost effort and do what he can with the scholars, with the rulers, and with those who have a role in these matters, through writing, advice, guidance, the press, in sermons, and in private communications. This is the obligation, and this is the jihad in reforming the media and other things.
As for silence, it is not a cure. The cure is good speech and a good manner in forbidding what is wrong, in calling to what is good, in explaining the cure, and in explaining the disease and the remedy. Mention the disease, its harms, and its danger, and mention the remedy with it according to your knowledge. You may err and you may hit the mark, and another may err and hit the mark, so the correct is gathered and the error is left. Therefore, there is no place for silence.
Rather, it is obligatory for the student of knowledge to write and to speak within the limits of what Allah has prescribed for him in his sermon, in his gatherings with his brothers, in his school in his teaching of the children if he is a teacher, and in other ways. He teaches what Allah has prescribed, teaches what Allah and His Messenger have commanded, and forbids what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden. He gives advice, writes to the responsible parties according to his knowledge, verifies, and does not proceed except with knowledge. He learns, understands the jurisprudence, and consults the people of knowledge so that he is on clear evidence.
If he is on clear knowledge, let him write, let him advise, let him guide him, and let him seek help from Allah. And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Religion is advice, religion is advice.الدين النصيحة، الدين النصيحة
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took the pledge of Jarir ibn Abdullah al-Bajali to be sincere to every Muslim. So sincerity is through speech, through writing, through action and righteous deeds, through sermons, and through other means of sincerity.
