The Obligatory Duties Toward One's Children

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
There is no doubt that among the most obligatory duties upon society and the Muslim community as a whole is to care for the upbringing of their children with an Islamic upbringing. However, there are Satan’s claimants who work hard to destroy the Muslim generations by corrupting their religion and morals. This is done through the presentation of destructive plays, obscene films, and football matches through which the players’ private parts are exposed. While we and the teachers strive to raise the children of Muslims with an Islamic upbringing, as soon as the students leave school, they leave everything they heard in school behind them, to encourage the society to do what I mentioned. Their families make excuses for them, claiming that watching such things is merely for entertainment now.
And a young man grows up among us
according to what his father taught him

Answer:
The point is that it is obligatory upon the teacher, the father, the mother, and everyone who has a connection with the children to fear Allah regarding them, and to teach them and guide them to good. Guidance is in the hand of Allah :
Not upon you, [O Muhammad], is [responsibility for] their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills.لَيْسَ عَلَيْكَ هُدَاهُمْ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ
[al-Baqarah:272],
Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He willsإِنَّكَ لَا تَهْدِي مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ
[al-Qasas:56].
Therefore, it is obligatory upon every person to perform what he is able of calling to Islam, teaching, and guidance. The teacher in his school, the member in the organization, the father and mother, the brother, and others—each of them has his obligatory duty. When societies become disordered and corruption appears in them, reform becomes weak, but this does not exempt a person from performing the obligatory duty and fearing Allah in what is required of him—and Allah is the One sought for help.
