Is it obligatory for a father's gifts to be in accordance with inheritance shares?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is obligatory for a father regarding his gifts and donations to his children if there are both males and females among them? Is it obligatory for him to give the daughter half of what he gives the son?

Answer:
The obligatory thing is justice; because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتَّقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
, so he must equalize between them:
for the male, what is equal to the share of two femalesلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنْثَيَيْنِ
[Surat al-Nisa: 11] just like inheritance. So if he gives a man one thousand, he gives the woman five hundred. He must equalize between them, unless they are of sound mind and they permit one of them to be given more, and they are of sound mind and permit it willingly, then there is no harm.
As for if they are not of sound mind, no, he must equalize, he must equalize between them, and not give to this one and leave this one. The man and the woman, the woman has half of the man's share, and even if she is married, he must equalize between her and her brothers, and not wrong them. He must be just between all of them. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Be afraid of Allah, and be just to your children.اتَّقوا الله واعدلوا بين أولادكم
Sahih al-Bukhari 2587
.
Q: And if he buys a car or land, must he do the same with his other brothers?
A: A car or anything else, unless it is a loan in his name, he goes with it to school, and it is in the father's name, it is not a gift, but he goes with it to school and returns, and it is in the father's name; there is no harm.
As for a gift, no, he does not give him a gift without his brothers.
