The Verses Recited for the Sorcerer-Stricken and the One Afflicted by the Evil Eye

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A brother asks about the verses that are recited for the sorcerer-stricken, and for the one who is prevented from his wife: what are they?

Answer:
Many of the scholars have mentioned: that among the causes of healing for the sorcerer-stricken, and the one who is prevented from his wife, is to recite the three verses in Surat Yunus, Surat al-A'raf, and Surat Ta-Ha that are related to sorcery. He recites them, and they are recited over the sorcerer-stricken and the one prevented from his wife, along with the Verse of the Throne, and "Say, O you disbelievers," and "Say, He is Allah, the One," and "Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of the Dawn," and "Say, I seek refuge with the Lord of Mankind." These are recited over the patient, or in water, and the patient drinks it, and he is healed by the permission of Allah.
And if seven leaves of the sidr tree are added to it, ground up and put in the water, and recited over that as well, this is beneficial. This is recited over the patient, or in water where the verses of sorcery from Surat al-A'raf, Surat Yunus, and Surat Ta-Ha are recited, along with the Verse of the Throne, "Say, O you disbelievers," "Say, He is Allah, the One," and the two chapters of seeking refuge. Then the sorcerer-stricken and the one prevented from his wife drink from it, and rinse with the rest. This is beneficial, and we have tried it many times. Likewise, if these verses are recited over the patient himself, it benefits him greatly.

Question: A question about the treatment for being afflicted by the evil eye?

The Shaykh: Likewise, ruqyah is beneficial for the evil eye. One performs ruqyah with the verses that are appropriate in the Qur'an, and makes du'a for him, and blows on him with that. This benefits him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
No Ruqyah except for the (evil) eye and the scorpion sting.لا رقية إلا من عين، أو حمة
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2057Sahih (Darussalam)
And if the one who cast the evil eye is known, he is ordered to wash his face, and rinse his mouth from the extremities of his body in a vessel, then he bathes with this water, and the evil eye is removed, by the permission of Allah, if he is known.

Question: If he is causing him harm, O Shaykh, and there is hostility and enmity.?

The Shaykh: If he is known, he is approached in a good manner. It is said: This is what harms you, and this is the command of Allah, and the evil eye is a reality. It is obligatory for you to agree, and to bathe for him with your extremities, and rinse your mouth, and wash your face and your hands, and give him some of this; it is beneficial, by the permission of Allah. What harm is there in it? And it is permissible for the ruler to compel him to do so, if he is known.

Question: What is the ruling on one who recites over the insane, and claims that they speak to the jinn, and reveal to them from the person?

The Shaykh: This is a reality. If he recites over them, they may come out, by the permission of Allah, if he is good and a person of faith. The jinn may come out through his recitation, and he may strike them as well, if he is known and not known for sorcery or anything else.
