The Ruling on Bringing Children to Mosques

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some children, four or five years old, are brought to the mosque by their fathers. Then, after the imam finishes the prayer, they disturb the worshippers, talk, and leave.?

Answer:
It is better not to bring them until they are of sound mind. When they reach the age of seven and have understanding, you may bring them. But if they are younger than that, or if they lack the sense to stop playing and causing harm, they should not be brought; because they harm the worshippers and disturb them. However, if the child is of sound mind, understands, does not cause harm, and prays, there is nothing wrong with it.

Question: Does he break the prayer?

Answer: No, he does not break it. Only three things break the prayer: a woman, a donkey, and a black dog. Only these break the prayer. But do not let a man pass by, or a boy, or a beast, if it is possible to prevent it. However, if a man, a camel, or sheep pass by, they do not break the prayer. What breaks the prayer is specifically the donkey, the black dog, and the woman.
