The ruling on depositing money in interest-based banks without taking interest

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man deposited a sum of money in one of the banks as a deposit, without interest, but he later discovered that this bank operates and engages in forbidden projects?

Answer:
One should preserve money and not deposit it in banks that deal in usury, if possible. However, if he is compelled to do so, he should place it in the bank merely to keep it safe, and he should not accept usury, not desire usury, and not take interest. I hope that there is no blame on him; due to dire necessity, to preserve money in banks nowadays; because if some people put it in their homes, they fear it will be lost or stolen.
So the conclusion: If the dire necessity requires placing the money in them for the sake of necessity, and he does not desire any interest from it; then he owes nothing.

Question: And al-Rajhi?

Answer: As for al-Rajhi, we know nothing about it, there is nothing wrong with it. Al-Rajhi, and al-Sabai, and their like, we know nothing about them, we know nothing but good.
