The Necessity of Calling to Allah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our environment today is pervaded by affliction, corruption, religious innovations, and evil; so how do we rectify this environment? And until when will we keep our heads in the ground?
Answer:
The environment is the place of action, the place of da'wah, and the place of guidance. It is obligatory for one who has knowledge to exert himself in it through sermons, writing, and lectures, so that he strives to spread the religion of Allah and fulfills his share of that duty. He should not keep his head in the ground or hide himself. Rather, it is obligatory for everyone who has knowledge to work, strive, speak the truth, and spread the truth.
And, by the praise of Allah, there are now those who undertake this and strive for it in many countries and many places. They strive to spread the religion of Allah, and they study and deepen their understanding of Islamic jurisprudence in colleges that do not teach religion, but rather teach engineering, medicine, and so on. Among their students, good students have emerged who seek the religion of Allah, defend the truth, and call to it. This is in addition to the students in the other colleges, such as those of Shari'ah, the principles of religion, and da'wah, among others.
There are others who are not in universities; rather, they learned in the mosques, learned from the scholars, read the Book of Allah, studied what was made easy of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and attended the circles of knowledge. So they benefited, and they had great activity in calling to Allah and guiding people to good. And they are increasing, by the praise of Allah, and multiplying.
