The Reality of Arab and Muslim Armies and How to Prepare Them

Question:
Your Eminence, the Muslim soldiers today are exposed only to obscene films, and their religious culture is very shallow. Is this not a shortcoming in taking the necessary measures? And the Muslims who want to engage in jihad do not know how to throw a stone, because in many countries the purchase, carrying, and training with weapons are prohibited. So if a caller to jihad calls, what will the situation be?

Answer:
This is one of the greatest causes of the lack of preparation: turning to desires, obscene films, radio, television, and evil recordings, and occupying time with them instead of obeying Allah and His Messenger. This is one of the greatest losses, one of the greatest causes of the enemies being empowered, and one of the greatest causes of punishments being inflicted. We seek refuge in Allah from that.
Also, the fact that a person does not train, and does not find anyone to train him in weapons and in jihad in the path of Allah, and to train his body to carry weapons, is also one of the calamities and misfortunes. It is obligatory for every state to train its men and youth so that they become a suitable force for jihad and fighting, and that they do not neglect this. If they prepare only when the disaster strikes, it will not benefit them; rather, they must prepare before that through preparation and training, so that when the need arises and the crisis descends, he is capable of action and capable of jihad.
We ask Allah to guide the rulers of the Muslims to this matter, and to guide the youth, and those who have strength, to demand this and to care for it, so that they become capable of jihad, and so that they are trained when the realities arrive, and the enemies of Allah arrive, or when fighting the enemies of Allah is required.
