The Nisab of Gold Zakah in Saudi Riyals

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
I heard from your eminence in a previous episode of this program that the amount of the gold nisab is ninety-two grams. I ask your eminence to clarify for us how much the zakah of the nisab is in the Saudi Riyal currently circulating in the markets. May Allah reward you with good.
Answer: Yes, the nisab of gold is twenty mithqals, which is estimated at ninety-two grams. In terms of the pound, it is estimated at eleven pounds and three-sevenths of a pound—meaning eleven and a half pounds—because the difference between three-sevenths and one-half is negligible. If the gold reaches eleven and a half pounds, whether in bracelets or otherwise, amounting to ninety-two grams, zakah becomes obligatory on it. The zakah is one-quarter of one-tenth of everything. One-quarter of one-tenth of one hundred is two and a half; of one thousand, it is twenty-five; of forty, it is one; and so on. One-quarter of one-tenth applies to both gold and silver. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you.
