Caution against intrusive thoughts during urination and the ruling on pre-seminal fluid and post-urination fluid
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
This is a message we received from the questioner Muhammad Abd al-Satar Muhammad Ibrahim, an Egyptian national residing in Riyadh. He says: My question is that after urinating, a white fluid, pre-seminal fluid (madhi), comes out of me. What is the ruling regarding my ablution and the correct method for this ablution? I should mention that I squeeze my penis after cleaning myself. Some of my brothers told me that this is incorrect and not good from a health perspective. So I used to place toilet paper and wait for some time. However, sometimes I am on the street, the call to prayer is made, and I need to go to the bathroom to urinate, but I hold myself back, perform ablution directly, and pray. I fear that this prayer may not be complete. Please advise us, may Allah reward you?
Answer: One should not go to extremes in this matter. Squeezing the penis is a great danger; it is one of the causes of urinary incontinence and one of the causes of intrusive thoughts. However, when the urine comes out, you clean yourself, and praise be to Allah, or you use stones, and praise be to Allah, using the lawful method of cleaning with stones. As for squeezing the penis and striving to make something come out, this is a mistake and is not permissible. It is one of the causes of starting to have intrusive thoughts and urinary incontinence. You should beware of this. When the urine stops, you clean yourself with water or with stones or the like, three times or more, until the impurity is removed, and that is sufficient.
And what comes out of the white fluid after urination, whether it is pre-seminal fluid (madhi) or post-urination fluid (wadi), all of it has the same ruling as urine, whether it is madhi or wadi; you clean yourself from it. But if it is madhi, which is what comes out due to causes of desire, when desire is stirred, it is madhi, which is a known sticky fluid, then you wash the penis and the two testicles with it. You wash the penis and the two testicles as the Sunnah has indicated. As for the white fluid other than madhi, which is wadi, its ruling is the ruling of urine; you wash the tip of the penis that was affected by the urine, and that is sufficient, and praise be to Allah.
But we warn you to stay away from squeezing the penis, because this causes problems; it causes incontinence and it causes intrusive thoughts. Leave this and do not return to it, if Allah wills. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah bless you, and may Allah reward you with good.
