The Permissibility of Hastening to Return After Completing Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
There are people who boast about returning quickly from Hajj. What is your guidance for such people, if you would be so kind, O Shaykh?
Answer: This requires a distinction: If there is a need or an Islamic benefit, there is no harm, but only after he has completed his Hajj. For example, a person who has important work, or has left behind important work, it is permissible for him to hasten for a legitimate religious purpose. Or if he has a doctor’s appointment, or prisoners for whom he is responsible, or education whose time is passing, or similar known needs that require speed. Once he has finished stoning the pillars and the farewell circumambulation, there is no harm in hastening for the sake of an Islamic benefit.
As for when there is no dire necessity, it is better for him not to hasten so that he can benefit from his stay in Makkah, praying in the Sacred Mosque, and circumambulating in the Haram. This is a great good. Every day that passes, if he gets the opportunity to pray in the Sacred Mosque, that is a great good. Or if he circumambulates, that is a great good. But, praise be to Allah, the matter is broad as long as he has completed his Hajj. So if one wishes to travel, there is no harm. However, if he insists on traveling in a way that harms him, or harms others through the crowding, he should refrain from doing so until he can circumambulate calmly, and so that he does not harm anyone, and so that it is also facilitated for him to do more circumambulations or prayers in the Sacred Mosque. All of this is a great good. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
