Evaluation of the Hadiths in the Book *Al-Majmu'ah al-Mubaraka* on the Narrated Prayers

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
A letter reached us from Iraq, sent by our brother Hatim Shams al-Din Jabbar. Our brother says regarding the book *Al-Majmu'ah al-Mubaraka* on the Narrated Prayers and the Righteous Deeds: This book contains many hadiths of our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), according to the book's claims. Among these hadiths is this one: It is narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
Whoever misses a prayer in his lifetime and does not make it up, let him stand on the last Friday of Ramadan and pray four rak'ahs with one tashahhud, reciting in each rak'ah the opening of the Book (Surat al-Fatihah) and Surat al-Qadr fifteen times, and Surat al-Kawthar. And let him say in his intention: "I intend to pray four rak'ahs as expiation for the prayers I have missed." Abu Bakr said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "It is an expiation for four hundred years." Until Ali (may Allah honor his face) said: "It is an expiation for a thousand years." He said: "O Messenger of Allah! A son of Adam lives sixty years or a hundred years, so for whom is the extra prayer?" He said: "It is for his parents, his wife, and his children and his closest relatives." When he finishes the prayer, he sends blessings upon the Prophet one hundred times in whatever form, then he supplicates with this supplication three times: "O Allah, O He whose obedience does not benefit You and whose disobedience does not harm You, accept from me what does not benefit You and forgive me what does not harm You. O He who, when He promises, He fulfills, and when He threatens, He overlooks and forgives, forgive a servant who has wronged himself. And I ask You, O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the arrogance of wealth and the hardship of poverty. My Lord, You created me when I was nothing, and You provided for me when I was nothing, and I committed sins. So I am admitting my sins. If You forgive me, it will not diminish Your kingdom in any way, and if You punish me, it will not benefit Your dominion in any way..."
and so on. I ask for your guidance: Is this hadith authentic or not? May Allah reward you with good?

Answer: This hadith is one of the fabricated hadiths falsely attributed to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). And this book, *Al-Majmu'ah al-Mubaraka*, is a book that should not be relied upon because of the fabricated hadiths it contains. It is a book that is not to be relied upon, and one should not place trust in it. This mentioned hadith is invalid and has no basis in truth. The believer should be aware of this matter and should not rely except on the known, trustworthy books whose reliability and acceptance are established among the scholars of knowledge, such as those mentioned earlier, like: the two Sahihs, and like: *Riyad al-Saliheen*, and like: *Bulugh al-Maram* regarding the hadiths contained therein, and *Umdat al-Hadith* by the Shaykh Abdul Ghani al-Maqdisi (may Allah have mercy on him), and the like of these. These are the known books. As for the unknown books and the books written by the ignorant and the fabricators, such as the book *Al-Majmu'ah al-Mubaraka* and the like of it, this is not to be relied upon. Yes.
