The Ruling on Admonishing the Funeral Procession in the Cemetery

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Is it part of the Sunnah to admonish the gathering of the funeral procession in the cemetery?
Answer: If it is facilitated, it is good. If it is facilitated to admonish them, and it is facilitated for someone to listen to it and benefit from it, then it is recommended. In fact, it is established from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he admonished the people in the cemetery when they came to the grave and before the body was placed in the niche. He sat with his companions and reminded them (peace and blessings be upon him), explaining to them the state of the servant when he is placed in his grave. They asked him about the decree, saying: "Do we act in a matter that has already passed, or in a matter that is being started anew?" He said: "In a matter that has already passed." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how can we act when our matter is already finished?" He said (peace and blessings be upon him): اعملوا فكل ميسر لما خلق له، أما أهل السعادة فييسر لعمل أهل السعادة، وأما أهل الشقاوة فييسر لعمل أهل الشقاوة، ثم تلا قوله سبحانه: فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى ۝ وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى ۝ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى ۝ وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى ۝ وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى ۝ فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى [الليل:5-10] Act, for everyone is facilitated for that for which he was created. As for the people of happiness, they are facilitated for the work of the people of happiness. And as for the people of misery, they are facilitated for the work of the people of misery. Then he recited His saying, the Exalted: "But as for he who gives and fears Allah, and believes in the best, We will facilitate him for ease. But as for he who withholds and considers himself self-sufficient, and denies the best, We will facilitate him for hardship" [Al-Layl: 5-10].
The point is that he (peace and blessings be upon him) reminded them and recited to them some of the hadiths (peace and blessings be upon him). So, if it is facilitated to remind the attendees and admonish them, there is no harm in that; it is good, if Allah wills. Yes.
