The Ruling on Preaching at Graves

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The questioner: What is Your Eminence’s opinion regarding preaching at graves?

Answer:
Preaching at graves is recommended if it is feasible; because the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) preached at graves. It is established from the hadith of 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and from the hadith of al-Bara' ibn 'Azib that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) preached to those present at the graves. So if some of the scholars are present and preach to the people at the grave, while they are waiting for the burial, or while they are standing for the burial, and he reminds them of Allah, all of that is good and fine.
