The ruling on the follower following the imam with the mushaf
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Some of the followers follow the imam in the mushaf while he is reciting?
Answer: More than one person has asked me about this, and what appears to me is that this should not be done, and that it is better to focus on the prayer, be humble, and place the hands on the chest, the right hand over the left, on the palm of the left hand and its wrist and forearm, reflecting on what the imam is reciting and listening, like this. Allah the Exalted says: [Al-A'raf: 204], and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Sunan Ibn Majah 847Sahih (Darussalam), so the Sunnah is to listen and not be occupied with anything, neither with the mushaf nor with anything else, but rather to place his right hand over his left on his chest, humble, tranquil, listening, reflecting, and understanding what the imam is reciting. This is the best and most preferable. As for listening to him with the mushaf, the least of its states is that it is disliked. Yes.

So when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention
