Question:
What is the authenticity of the hadith: “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave,” and the hadith:
Let none of you die until he has a good thought of Allah, for a good thought of Allah is the price of Paradise.
?

Answer:
The hadith: “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave” is not authentic; it is fabricated according to the scholars of knowledge. It is not authentic. The one in the cradle does not seek knowledge, nor does he know knowledge.
Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave
This is not authentic, but the meaning is to strive in seeking knowledge and to be eager to seek knowledge, and the hadith is not authentic. Likewise, the other hadith:
Seek knowledge even in China
is not authentic.
As for the hadith:
None of you should court death but only hoping good from Allah
Sahih Muslim 2877a
, it is an authentic hadith narrated by Muslim and others from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said:
None of you should court death but only hoping good from Allah
Sahih Muslim 2877a
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah the Exalted says:يقول الله 
: I am as My slave thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me. If he thinks well of Allah, this is good. This is among the most important matters. However, it requires what happens to him if he does good deeds. If he does good deeds, his thought of Allah will be good. As for the one who does bad deeds, his good thought of Allah will not be straight, for he has done bad deeds; because bad deeds lead to bad thoughts, as the poet said:

If a man’s actions are bad, his thoughts become bad
The intended meaning: One of the causes of having a good thought of Allah is striving in His obedience and being cautious of His disobedience. So whoever does well in his obedience to Allah, and is upright upon the command of Allah, and keeps away from the prohibitions of Allah, his thought of Allah will be good. And whoever’s deeds are bad, his thoughts will be bad. We ask Allah for safety.
